Map Showing Businesses in Downtown Oberlin 1879

This map shows many of the businesses listed in my previous blog.

Map was drawn by Bert Ewing about one year after the raid. It is dated September 11, 1879. You can see where the rifle pits were dug for security, the log school house where the victims were taken in preparation for burial, the Rodehaver Hotel and the J. W. Allen & Son Store where people congregated for support. Also of interest are the two buffalo paths.
